HOW TO BE THANKFUL IN YOUR MINISTRY

None of us plans to arrive in heaven without having done what God wanted us to do on earth. No, not one! We want to complete the tasks God has assigned us. Most people would say that they do not know what their calling is, let alone know how to fulfil it! You cannot be a good shepherd if you cannot hear the voice of God.  

A good shepherd also obeys God’s instructions. Your obedience to God is your master key to fulfilling your ministry.

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM BEING OFFENDED

Offended people are hurting and smarting from things that have happened in their lives. Offence is unavoidable in your journey with God. There are several things that Jesus mentioned in His discourse to the disciples that will protect you from becoming offended one day. Hurts and offences have caused too much devastation in the church.

Jesus armed the minds of His disciples to protect them from becoming offended. You must believe the following truths that Jesus gives and they will help and save you from offences.

OFFENCES: HOW TO OVERCOME THEM

It would be nice and pleasant if you were never offended by anything. In fact, it would even be perfect if your Church or Pastor was so perfect that nothing ever offended anyone. But as long as you are on earth, you will be offended at one point or the other.

It is natural for people to declare that they have no offence in them. However, if Jesus said we would be offended, it is our duty to accept that we are offended when it happens to us.

The scripture is clear that rebuking someone is a serious business. People love to be praised and pampered. Most people do not take well to correction.

When people are being corrected, most of them fail to think of what they have done wrong.

 

Whenever you have to correct someone, you must be careful that the person does not get offended. indeed, you must avoid correcting people who are not mature enough to receive correction.

THERE WILL BE OFFENCES

You may be happy to be a member of the church today. You may be glad that God has called you and made you a part of the fold. Jesus has predicted that one day you will be stuck in such a way that you have a lot of pain. This pain may be emotional pain. This hurt may be something you find difficult to get rid of.

The Bible says in Matthew 18:7,'' Woe unto the world because of offences! For it must need be that offences come, but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

Starting a new series from the book, THOSE WHO ARE OFFENDED, written by Bishop Dag Heward Mills, Apostle highlighted the instances that will cause offences to happen and the way to deal with them when it happens.

Like a snake that causes people to quickly rise up to kill it, offence must be dealt with as swiftly as it rears its head.

CULTURE OF ALLEGIANCE

The culture of a church is a very powerful force. You may not be aware of it but it is real. You need to develop a good culture of faithfulness, fidelity and loyalty. Even in the business world, the culture of the company in question determines how well it does.
A church's culture is simply the set of unique customs and values that the members are accustomed to.

To have a culture of loyalty you must constantly prune our disloyal elements that find their way into our midst.

THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING HONOURED AS A SHEPHERD

Only one thing occurs to you when you hear the word "Shepherd" - sheep! Sheep are dependent creatures that need shepherds. A shepherd is a caring loving guide to the sheep. In the Bible, God refers to us as the sheep of His pasture.

 

Great honour is bestowed upon you when you take up the job of a Shepherd. It is an honour to be chosen out of the group. Apostle Toss explains why the job of Shepherding is an honour and what is this honour for. Jesus also told Peter to feed His sheep, to prove his love for the Savior. Being a shepherd is a very great job. It is an honour to be called by God.
